Kids Corner - How to choose the right eyewear for your child
Choosing glasses for your child can be a fun and bonding experience for you and your child. To ensure a great experience to remember for you and your child, here are some things to consider before purchasing your child’s glasses:
Material
When choosing material for your child’s frames, opt for frames that are made out of lightweight material. Your child will be wearing his/her glasses the whole day, and having glasses that are light and does not cause unnecessary pressure behind the ears or on the nose would be most comfortable for them.
Nose Bridge
If the bridge of the frame is too wide, your child’s glasses will slide down continuously, which can be very frustrating. If the bridge is too narrow, it will pinch your child’s nose and cause a lot of discomfort, especially if they wear it the whole day. It is important for the bridge to fit comfortably on your child’s nose.
Spring Hinges
Glasses with spring hinges are ideal for children, because these special hinges allow the temple arms to be stretched outwards without causing the glasses to become lopsided or uneven. Children are not always careful with their glasses, and constant repairing of uneven frames or loose screws may be inconvenient and costly.
Let your child choose
As your child will be the one wearing the glasses, let them have the option to choose the type of frame, colour and design they want. Allow them to be creative in their selection, as glasses can be a great way to show off their personalities.
Eyelet Jr is a range specially designed for children. It is made of high-tensile strength stainless steel that enhances the flexibility of the frame, making it both strong and flexible. Our unique process of using nylon string instead of screws to connect the frame makes it easy to spring back into shape even when roughly handled. You don’t have to worry about uneven, lopsided glasses and loose screws anymore. It also comes in many different colours and frames so your child will have a lot of fun trying and choosing the right fit.
